View Car Details

Use

Car benefit is a tax on an employee for the benefit of having a car available for private use and is also used to assess liability for Class 1A NICs. It does so by treating the employee as though their earnings for tax were higher by a notional sum (the "cash equivalent" of the benefit).

In this screen you can view the details of the company car which you have entered.

Fields Available

The following details are displayed in the Car- Essential Details area.

• Make: The make of the car will be displayed here.
• Model: The model of the car will be displayed here.
• List Price: The list price of the car will be displayed here.
• Fuel / Power Type: This field displays the type of fuel used in the car.

Enter the following details in the Optional Details

• Year: This field displays the year in which the car was manufactured.
• Color: The color of the car will be displayed here.
• Classic Car Value: If the car is a classic car, then its market value will be displayed here.
  Note: A car is considered a classic if it is 15 or more years old, if it has a classic value of £15,000 or more and if its current market value is more than the original price.
• Optional Accessory Cost: This field displays the cost of any accessories (if any) that have been added to the car since its registration. For example, car stereo, sun roof etc.
• M.O.T. Date:  The MOT due date of the car will be displayed here.
  Note: The Ministry Of Transport (MOT) decides the valid period of the automobile inspection permit for vehicles that are three or more years old.
• Engine Size: This field displays the engine size of the car.
• Approved CO2:  This field displays the carbon dioxide emission figure of the car in grams per kilometer.
• Purchased Date: This field displays the date when the car was purchased.
• Purchased Price: This field displays the price of the car when it was purchased.

Associated Tasks

• Done: If you have finished viewing, creating or modifying the details and wish to leave this screen, click on this button. You will be taken back to the Car & Fuel Setup screen.
• Edit: To make any modifications to the car details, click on this button.
