Pay Employees by BACS

Use

This Pay Employee by BACS screen shows you the calculated value of the employees to be paid through BACS.

Please note, If you are certain that some employees payment is an error you should go into the rollback section in the "Others" module in the Tasking Zone to rollback the data and re-run the payrun to rectify the error. If you find the data are correct, click on the yellow coloured "Continue >" button and further enter your password in the next page to confirm the BACS payment.

Please note, this screen lists only the employees whose payment method is BACS. If you have not selected the payment method as BACS, his/her name will not be displayed on this screen. To select, go to View/Edit employees under Employee module and change the payment method to BACS in Employment details section.

Note: Internet Payroll package provides you the option to save the BACS payment data in the CSV format onto your local system and print the payment data. Please note, you cannot pay HMRC / employees / other payees by BACS directly from Internet payroll package.

You have to instruct your bank to pay HMRC / employees / other payees by BACS. To instruct the bank to pay HMRC / employees / other payees by BACS is a separated process and it depends on what system you have adopted.

Fields Available

• Reset if to view other pay period payment: Select the appropriate pay period to pay the employee from the drop down list. Please note, you must process an employee's salary before you pay him/her by BACS. This screen displays only the pay processed employees' names depending on the pay period you select.
• Select Emp to Approve: To approve the employee, you must select the employee by ticking the tick box adjacent to his/her name. If the employee is not selected, his/her BACS status will not be approved.

Please note, the BACS pay does not have to be approved for all employees each period. You can simply select the employees you want to approve the BACS pay by ticking those employees check boxes. If required, you can at a later date, approve the BACS pay for any employee you missed out previously.

• Works No.: The employee's works number will be displayed here.
• Employee Name: The employee's name will be displayed here.
• Amount To Pay: The amount to pay to the employee will be displayed here.
• Bank Name: The employee's bank name will be displayed here.
• Sort Code: The bank' s sort code will be displayed here.
• Account No.: The employees account number will be displayed here.
• Transaction Code: The transaction code will be displayed here.
• Status: The status of the employee will be shown as whether Approved or Not Approved.

Associated Tasks

• Read me First: The Read Me First screen suggests you the possible pre-requisites that you need to follow before proceeding with a given task. To go through the requirements, which are needed before paying employee through BACS, click on this button.
• Continue: To continue with this process, click on this button.
• Print: If you wish to take a print out of this screen, click on this button.
• Approve: To approve the pay of your monthly employee's by BACS, click on Select Emp to Approve and click on Approve button where the employee status will be shown as "Approved".
• Reject: To reject the pay of your monthly employee's by BACS, tick the employee in the tick box and click on Reject button where the status previously shown as Approved will now be shown as Not Approve.
