Report Future Period of Inactivity

Use

When you are sure that you're not going to pay any employees' for a while you should let HMRC know. For this you have to E-file one EPS to HMRC. The period you don't pay is referred as 'period of inactivity'. But whenever you do start paying employees' again you must be sure to send HMRC a monthly return immediately when it is due to avoid being charged a penalty. If there is going to be a period of inactivity then HMRC will not expect any other returns nor any payment for the period stipulated.

In this screen you can select the months' which will be referred as 'Period of Inactivity' as you E-File your Employer Payment Summary (EPS).
